¡Hola y Bienvenido a iForward!
(Hi and welcome to iForward)
My name is Maria Haas and I love being a part of this amazing school where STUDENTS MATTER! I haven’t met a person here who doesn’t live and breathe that! You will be in good hands here.
A little bit about me… my hometown is Racine but I’ve lived all over the state from Madison to Stevens Point to Prescott. I now live on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota but I promise I’m loyal to Wisconsin, except for hockey… I cheer for the Minnesota Wild! I coach soccer, enjoy volunteering, and enjoy spending as much time as possible outside hiking or gardening or exploring new territory with my three children, Oksana, Makaria, and Elazar and husband Gary.
Professionally, I earned my Master of Education in administration from UW - Superior and focused on curriculum and school leadership. My specific passions are in personalized and competency based learning, building systems of intervention, and empowering teacher leadership through the PLC framework. Education has always been my calling and my experience previous to iForward includes:
- 2 years of directing a high school credit recovery program with Prescott School District
- 10 years of teaching at the high school level in three different school districts in the areas of chemistry, physics, math intervention, credit recovery, and Spanish
- 8 years of directing 3 different pre-K through middle school programs for non-profit organizations in Stevens Point, Madison, and Prescott, Wisconsin.
