¡Hola y Bienvenido a iForward!
(Hi and welcome to iForward)
My name is Maria Haas and I am thrilled to be part of this amazing school where STUDENTS MATTER! I haven’t met a person here who doesn’t live and breathe that! YOU matter at iForward!
A little bit about me… my hometown is Racine but I’ve lived all over the state from Madison to Stevens Point to Prescott. I now live on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota but I promise I’m loyal to Wisconsin, except for hockey… I cheer for the Wild! I have three children, Oksana, Makaria, and Elazar and a devoted partner, Gary. My girls are now taller than me though they are only in middle school and they love to hold that over me...literally! I enjoy being their taxi driver and biggest fan as well as gardening, hiking, coaching soccer, and trying new things.
Professionally, I earned my Master of Education in administration from UW - Superior and also have a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, Spanish, and secondary education from UW - Stevens Point. Education has always been an important part of my life…. I highly recommend it!! Teaching is my calling and my experiences have ranged from teaching chemistry and physics with Upward Bound to running Lightspeed Tutoring service to directing youth programs for several non-profit organizations. I have also taught high school Spanish and math intervention, directed credit recovery programs, and am currently working on a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. I look forward to serving and supporting our students, families, teachers, and staff at iForward in this new role.
